STAR-Seal Supreme is a premium grade pavement sealer for discriminating jobs that demand outstanding performance and appearance year after year. It is the ultimate in asphalt pavement protection having an extraordinary degree of toughness, flexibility and water repellency.STAR-Seal Supreme utilizes a proprietary technology to achieve toughness and flexibility. Toughness is important as it will reduce wear from traffic and last longer on the pavement surface. Flexibility is important so that the coating can flex with the changes in the asphalt, reducing cracking. Specialty polymers, rubber, and chemicals are blended with the hot refined tar during the manufacturing process. The hot blending allows the optimum fusion of these ingredients with the refined tar, thus the full development of properties.
The performance of STAR-Seal Supreme is unmatched by other 'premium', competitive sealers, which are generally made by post-adding a latex rubber to the regular sealer. Post-added at normal temperatures, the latex rubber does not adequately fuse into the refined tar to produce the desired improvement in performance properties.
STAR-Seal Supreme achieves water resistance by creating a clay chemistry that repels water. Water is the most damaging element to asphalt surfaces and coatings.
STAR-Seal Supreme resists re-emulsification caused by water attack on the clay system so prevalent in competitive coatings. The improved water repellency enhances the longevity of the coating and reduces the chance of tracking materials onto interior floors.
